Received mail from company saying I was pre approved with a fake check attached for 40k for debt consolidation loan at 3.87 interest. Told to call while the rate is still available.

My mail piece states I am pre-approved for a debt-consolidation loan of $27,500 at an interest rate of 3.87% with no upfront fees.

I called the number and the representative told me my loan interest rate would be 10.99% and there is a 3% processing fee with a different company/lender. I did not accept the offer.

Did they sell my info? I don't know. Offer doesn't read 'as low as'. The mailing is fraudulent.

I received an “offer” in the mail for $70k consolidation loan. In an effort to reduce wasteful mailings, I called the phone number on the back, to opt out 1-888-567-8688.

It asked me to put in my social security number to be removed, and that was all it asked for. There was no one to talk to, just an automated request for social security #. I hung up.

I wonder about the addresses they give to opt out by mail…
