I was contacted about a proofreading position and communicated through skype. I looked the company up and they seem very legit and have articles and reviews going back 10+ years. I received a contract and signed and was then told I was being issued the necessary devices and software. I was told they would oay for everything and that I would receive a check and I needed to deposit it and then pay the company providing the equipment. I received 2 checks about a week apart both of which were put on hold after my bank accepted them due to problems on their banks side. Both checks were released and returned and not deposited. After the first check didn't go through I was asked to pay $1,000 to the company providing the equipment to which I said no. After the second check didn't go through I was asked to pay $500 to which I said no and that I no longer wished to be apart of the company.
