Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
Included in the attachments was a W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) which I assume to be completly fraudulent and is used in an attempt to try and validate their company.
A fraudulent invoice which they used actual an company contact on as well as proper phone, address, and printer info etc. However the 1 toner cartidge that was never received or ordered is about 6 times the cost of an actual one.
A POD (proof of delivery) statement with I assume to be incorrect tracking number as there is no way to validate this since it has been expired for about a year now.
I would also like to point out that the address given for the buisness provided on the invoice. IF you perform a quick google search of returns a location that belongs to a UPS store. I was able to actually call the buisness that is at that location and they can confirm that they are at that location and have been for some time.
And one last detail that seems to be a reacurring detail is that many people have reported that their fake invoice also is for the amount of the one i received which is a total of $487.50. $467.50 for the toner and additional $19.95 for shipping and handling. What a coincidence huh??
