I answered my cell phone, and a very deep voice asked me if I was (my name). It sounded like a real person, uncanniy similar to the voice of a deceased relative. The tone was authoritative. First he said something about the police department, then he mentioned the "National Defense Alliance". He asked for a donation. I said I was not able to contribute. There was a long pause, which then led me to believe it was automated. The voice went on and mentioned that donations were NOT tax deductible and hung up. That was late Thursday night.

Saturday morning I was using the internet on my phone and did not notice anything unusual until I was unable to send texts or make phone calls. The Metro PCS dealer could not help, and it took a while to get in touch with a live customer service representative on the phone. Customer service said my number was ported out and my account turned off. My number was ported out to Nexus. It got confusing because MetroPCS was contacting Nexus on a Conference Call with me, and Nexus kept asking for the the new account number and pin which I did not have. In the end, I was able to get my number back, but it took an hour and ten minutes.

By checking account activity on my email, I could see that someone accessed my email twice on Friday night using the phone verification code. Setting that up was a mistake, and fortunately that was not set up on any other accounts. I notified my bank of the situation. While I did not notice an fraudulent activity, I changed my password and contact email anyway.
