Caller using extremely aggressive tone attempted to intimidate his way into a donation ...

The caller starts out in a very angry tone asking for me by name and that if i didnt "support law enforcement" by making a donation the implication was that there was going to be a problem for me..(after he just established that he knows who i am)..

I dont give money or personal information to unknown people who call me on the phone...

I do support law enforcement btw and have every respect for the risks they take and the life saving services

they provide to our community.

My caller ID showed a real estate company with an area code that I did not recognize, but when I answered, it was a robocall asking for donations for the families of police and troopers killed in the line of duty. I went through the process until a live person came on the line, and I asked her how much of the money they collect goes to the actual families. She told me 12%. So I asked to confirm that they keep 88%, and she said yes. I then asked why my caller ID showed a false number. She told me that they use a computer system that calls from a local number. I pointed out that the caller ID showed an area code that was not local, and the owner as a business, and asked why she was lying to me. She transferred me to a supervisor, who told me the same lie about the caller ID. I asked how it could be that they have access to the RE/Max real estate office phone number and noted that the area code was not local for me, and he gave an explanation with some technical sounding jargon that was basically the same lie. I reminded him that using a spoofed caller ID was illegal, and asked for a real phone number, which he provided.

For about a year I’ve received phone calls requesting a commitment for donations to this organization. I am then transferred to a processor who is in charge of taking my credit card number. Every time they call them clear to them that if they give me something in the mail I may donate that way however I’m not going to get my credit card information. This time when they called the processor told me they must have the credit card information and cannot do this. Upon researching this organization it seems as though 10% or less of their income is going to the people meant to serve. I definitely think this is a scam and because they use their name when they call people are willing and/or intimidated to donate.

Received phone calls and US Mail letters requesting donations to help Police and State Troopers and their families. It is a scam and the apeal No used is 85 88BD-805515. First attempt was a phone call solisitation and when I refused to give credit card info, I then received a notice in postal mail with what appeared to be a made up Letter Head using the same photo as another organization and I refuse to pay them our hard earned money !!

I do not wish to support fake organizations and in the future will ONLY DONATE TO LOCAL POLICE. STATE TROOPERS and FIREMEN. I value the work these people do to protect all of us and find it sickening when scamers try to profit from them.

I have called the phone number and reported that I do not and will not support their foundation and to remove my name and address from their SCAM

Fake charity. Number displayed is fake on caller ID

I keep getting calls from a similar phone number, with the person on the phone claiming to represent several different organizations. This time it was for the National Police and Troopers Association, which they've used at least once before. They've also claimed to be representing an organization for disabled veterans. I've asked them to remove my number from their list each time and they give me their scripted verbiage about it taking up to 48 hours or whatever. They don't ask for money, but instead say they will send a pledge card. This time they hung up on me. It's despicable that they are taking advantage of people's generosity.

12/29/6, I was called by a male who told me what company he was working for. He was looking for donations for the family of fallen officers families and wanted to know how much I was willing to donate. I began asking him questions of his company and organization, he dodged my questions and continued to ask how much I was willing to donate and asked for my address to send a packet that I could use to send the donation. I asked him for a website so I could check into their organization, he rapidly gave me that address and again asked about my donation. I had to ask a second time to repeat his website, he told me again. I told him that I would have to look into his organization before I gave them any money or my address. He became upset and abruptly told me that he wouldn't call back and hung up on me. I received a second call from the same individual who started out the same way, I told him that I spoke with him yesterday, and didn't appreciate the way he treated me for mearly wanting to check into his company and that he hung up on me and told him to put me on his do not call list, again he said he wouldn't call back and abruptly ended the conversation. If it was a legitimate organization, why would he not understand why I wanted to look into it? Something isn't right with this.

This organization contacted me by telephone asking for a donation, insisting on sending out a form for me to return to them. The name given on the phone was not the National Police and Troopers Association but rather a charitable conglomerate.

The original caller transferred to a "supervisor" to finalize contribution and information. They had my address and phone number, but I became alerted when the transfer was made. When the form arrived at my home I realized the organization was not even within my home area.
