It all started when I walked into work this morning, I was told that a process server by the name of Jessica King was trying to locate me to serve me a Court Summons and to call 855-210-4687 and provide my case number to resolve the matter. I called right away, only to be hung up on the first 2 times. Finally 3rd time I was connected to an agent who asked for the case number, he told me that the matter was very legitimate and that the matter was in regards to a loan I had taken out with Advance America, which he was correct about. He had dates, my address and he knew my social security number. With all that information I was certain that it was legitimate, considering that I did owe Advance America $165 for a pay day loan I went bad on. He said Advance America sold the title of the loan to the Nationwide ADR Company which was handling the resolution of my case. I told him there's no way I can pay $365 today and he said I can set up payment arrangement with the Mediation Manager so he transferred me to him. Once he came on the line I expressed my doubts of their legitimacy and he assured me it was real and that if I didn't comply that it would go to court and continue to locate me at work. I told him that I needed to do my research before I pay anyone anything. He then made an offer of $255 to settle today, I told him there was no way I can do that amount and he insisted it was a one time offer. I told him I would call back, his extension was 410. He was very rude toward the end of the call. When I called Advance America to talk about my account, they said it was sold to another company called Delta Managing Partners, then that DMP company stated that Capital Management Holdings was the holder of my account. The agent I spoke to told me that usually there's a fee, but not a fee over $200 dollars. They told me I owed $165. I've never dealt with a company that uses the court system to threaten me for an amount less than $500 or any amount for that matter. When I called back to Nationwide ADR to talk more about the information they had on me to verify the legitimacy of their claim against me, I asked the agent for extension 410, when he tried 410 he returned on the line to tell me he was busy so if I minded waiting. I told him I did mind waiting because I was stressed out with the nature of how their company was threatening me, once I said that, he told me that I better relax and he was going to explain it to me real simple. He said, "You took a loan out, you didn't pay it, and now you're being pursued by a process server to serve documents to you for charges filed against you." I told him that I wasn't going to accept papers from anyone unless its mailed to me with details of allegations, he responded very aggressively and rudely by saying "you know what the process server is going to find you and serve those papers to you, and you'll have your day in court!!!" then he hung up on me. I've never dealt with anything of this nature for a debt I owed, and sadly I was so embarrassed at my job for this matter, I was seriously hurt mentally and emotionally by this collection effort. I called Advance America to complain to them about what happened and they told me that no collection agency should never treat any individual that way. Nationwide ADR is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and I want them to be shut down and investigated for these very unprofessional business ethics. It's a shame to even be registered to the ScamPulse.com. No one should be embarrassed by a company they owe money to.
