Nationwide Loan Consultants Reports & Reviews (31)

I called about loan - They said sign here we will get you a loan adviser. Then sign here we will take 10% after we secure the loan.

Then I downloaded Sofi, I did 100% of the work with zero assistance from this company.

They will text and call until you sign ACH.

I Do Not recommend this scam of a company. It’s disgusting and misleading.
They got me for $5700.00

DO NOT USE.
They did absolutely NOTHING to help secure a loan. NOTHING. But they were there to remind me of the 10% contract I signed prior to knowing what they could do. Which was nothing.

I hope one day a Class action lawsuit shuts these guys down.

Nationwide loan consultants are scamming people, as well as, Debt Advisers of America (they referred me to Nationwide). Please read and don't entertain Nationwide Loan Consultants all the reviews because they're telling the truth. BBB needs to end their scamming immediately.

Terrible experience with Nationwide Loan "services". One of their "consultants" Jeffery Sthill pushed me very hard over the phone to get the loan through Nationwide Loan. They never said anything about FEES until they made you signed an agreement. Jeff told me they need to check on credit score, I said NO because i didn't want my credit score to get affected. He said to me they ONLY do soft check but i need to sign an authorization for the soft credit check but, instead i signed a contract with NATIONWIDE without knowing it Jeff rushed me over the phone to sign it .Now I am in a legal labyrinth. After this I have NASTY Jessica F. calling me asking me for 10.9% consulting fee for a loan that i did in my own. They didn't do anything for me. I did summited the paperwork and i spend 45 mins over the phone with the loan company. Now i had to called Massachusetts AG office and consumer report channel 10 Boston for help. Jessica threated me with reporting me to all credit report agencies. I'm not allowing Nationwide Loan to do this to me. I have a very good credit. What they do is illegal making people rush to sign electronically papers without letting them read anything. Jeff said to me sign it now just to check you credit but it was a contract with Nationwide. Please fight back this company. They should be out of Business.

They're just trying to be a middleman taking their 10% cut. They do nothing that you can't do yourself with free credit report websites, who will more accurately match with loan options.
This is borderline scam. Legally, you're paying them a consult fee, but morally, they're taking your money and sending you to a list of pre-prepared lenders with zero input.

I did not do my homework….ALL Nationwide did was send my information to a few lenders. I was under the impression they would actually be working to find a loan, negotiate better terms etc,…That did not happen…I had to contact and deal with the lenders myself. All Nationwide did, after sending out my info, was call me twice a day to ask what my loan status was so they could get paid. Once I was able to secure a loan I found that I need up paying a fee to Nationwide that was double what the actual lenders loan origination fees was…!

Misled! Same mo as the previous complaints that I have read above. I wanted to settle and get this nightmarish experience over. Accepted a settlement, but I can only make payments on. I can only afford so much, but this isn't good enough!
I don't understand their threats. If you are in business to help people, you help them. I am frustrated and tired of being threatened.

Save yourself money and time. Anything they are doing, you can do it youself. Also, you get better rates if you go by yourself. Just don't do it. Don't agree to anything on the phone. They record you so they can use that as leverage. I'm going to talk to a lawyer just to see if i have options but it looks like I'm screwed. This is just wrong. And I hope one day, someone puts a stop to these types of businesses.

Extremely awful experience, refinanced three months after signing on. Harassing tactics were used in an attempt to verify employment including submitting a national sales lead through a channel of about 30 executives and sales team members putting my pregnant wife through a great ordeal of undue stress in explaining the sales lead to the above mentioned sales members.

Customer service has been horrendous. Email system that doesn’t work. CSR’s that can’t submit emails in reference to the phone conversation for confirmation.

Refusing to send even a copy of the title to the new finance company for purposes of getting as far away from this company as possible.

They uses invasive tactics as “security questions” including employment. More less for their own records. Not as a security question.

And good luck if you are financed with this company in a state where you typically hold the title. Making it extremely difficult to refinance with a LEGITIMATE finance institution. Next stop…BBB

Worst ever. I applied for a loan in end of Jan. 2022, ON MY OWN but didn't finish the online application because I just wanted to see who else could give me a better interest rate since my credit is 800. 2 weeks later I speak with Nationwide Loan consultants and they literally were trying to get me a loan w/the same company I had already been approved for! Then tried to say I owe them a finders' fee, etc.! I had to email them proof of the date of my application (which was Jan. 25) because she was applying for a loan for the same company on Feb. 14th but added $2,000 on my loan. They need to be reported!

I have the same experience as everyone else. I wish I had seen this sight and wasn't in such a position to fall for garbage. I worked with the GM to get the fee reduced by 20%. Please, please if you are reading this, don't sign anything and think about it! I made a mistake that will cost me a few thousand dollars. For someone else it might cost you much more than that. The person earlier who thought Jennifer was intoxicated or worse, didn't dawn on me until I read that! STAY AWAY!

hmm why are my rates better when I look on my own. I"ll wait the 90 or so days.

The "loan consultant" had...a Jennifsr was either drunk or stoned on the phone. She slurred her words so badly I could barely understand her. Kept telling me she "lost her train of thought" and ok, where was I". She never mentioned a fee at all and led me to believe from what little I could understand...that this was a loan company. Then she wanted to mKe me sign the document right then. I said I am driving...so pullover she said. Nope, not happening.

When I reviewed the document...what a scam. Deleted it. I have yet to find a good review of this company. What a joke. But seriously, they need to check on Jennifer. She clearly has a substance abuse issue. Not helping your company.

Sincerely,
An embarrassed company.

Charge 10.9% for nothing continues to harass you not knowing if you received the loan or not. They are not affiliated with the loan company and did set up any transaction for me to receive this loan. Her name is Jessica Noel and she doesn't know anything about your loan. I think they hacked in to make you pay a fee then continue to extract funds from your account.

+3

I was advised that I would pay them 10.9% of my loan and that that would be the only cost. When I applied with Upstart, they charged me a further 10.9% fee as a processing fee or something. I ended up being asked to pay more than a fifth of what I had requested. Such a shame! Stay away from these guys!

I feel like all of many of the other commenters on here when I say Nationwide Loan Consultants are a Rip Off. I was told the same things, They have a list of better lenders, they do the work, etc etc. Then they called me to let me know I had to go into many of the loans and fill out the applications myself! What am I paying you for? Then they tried to talk me into using loan options that would cause hard inquiries, that would lower my credit score. They even suggested that I use multiple lenders to get the amount I needed, and I'd have to go to their sites to fill out the application. Luckily the people I wanted to make the purchase from are understanding and we worked out a deal, before I signed onto a loan that would've cost me dearly in the long run. If you're looking for loans, check the same places we did (which sadly were the same damned places they referred). Penfed, and Figure have the best rates.

Thank you for your review,

It is unfortunate that we do not have success for every client. For that reason, we do not have any upfront fees. A manager called you to hear more because we feel that is at least we can do.

I too was fooled into using this service, I’m in the military and I wanted to consolidate some credit card debt. I received a letter in regards to low interest credit card consolidation loan and some how I got roped into working with Nationwide Loan Consultants they created a fake email account for me without my permission and use this account along with personal information to apply for loans on my behalf. It was not accurately and clearly explained to me on how there company works so I didn’t understand they were not the ones providing me the low interest loan. It took server almost days to fully understand when I started getting emails from Credit Karma that new inquiry has been done on my credit. This has occurred about 4 times now, I’m trying to increase my credit score and get better a better rate not decrease my score by applying to multiple loan companies. I feel as if I have been taken advantage of and I don’t think anyone deserves to be tricked into working with a company who doesn’t fully explain what they are doing and that they will be sharing your information with many loan companies that involves pulling your credit and lowering your credit score. All I can say is shame on you for taking advantage of people and their wanting to do better financially

Thank you for your review,

First and foremost we value your service to our country. We do assist customers in getting funds to better their financial situations along with many other reasons. We do not want anyone to feel they were taken advantage of. We do not collect any upfront fees and only benefit if we locate a loan that our customers approve and accept.

We left you a voicemail. Please give us a call if there is anything we can do. If not we appreciate the opportunity and are embarrassed we didn't deliver.

Scam artists , stay clear from this company. They take your money and do nothing for you that you couldn't do on your own. Buyer beware

Run away! Run away! (Flee to the forest where you can find trees that lend instead.)

Nationwide Loan Consultants is a SCAM and their agents have nothing to offer that you can't easily do yourself. If you use them, you are required to forward them 9.9% of the loan amount for their "service" within 48 hours of the loan closing. To ensure they get a service fee of at least $999 for their "help", their minimum loan amount is $10,000. Their fine print also states that you cannot do business with any of the companies they source for you for 180 days unless you include them in the process. By signing what they described to me as the "permission to look for loans for you document" you are giving them access to run your credit for the next six months to keep track of your loan movements. Very nifty (for them!).

Yep, this place smells fishy because it is filled with predatory fish of the worst kind. They emailed me the "permission document" while we were on the phone and tried to pressure me into signing it right then. When I started pushing back, I could hear someone else advising the agent on how to respond. Then the phone got handed to a higher level predator who evidently been listening over her shoulder. With his syrupy, condescending voice he dumbed down the message to ensure that even one so lowly as I could understand (all while having side conversations). Very classy. He assured me that everything was fine and they would contact me later. Sadly, they did.

In the meantime I had read the document and saw what a complete rip off this company is. I told them to stop contacting me and to go away (forever). They still continue to send me emails with no option to unsubscribe. Horrible, rotten company whose sharks prey on unsuspecting, trusting people. Nationwide Loan Consultants are [censored] of the worst kind. #shameful #runaway

Thank you for your review,

We could not locate your file to try and reach out to you. As you are aware of we do not have any upfront fees whatsoever. We appreciate anyone who uses all the available options to find loan solutions. We understand that not every company and consumer is a perfect match. We are here to be an option for those who want to use our service. If you change your mind we really would like an opportunity to explain or show you what we can do. If not, we fully understand that we didn't earn your trust.

Omg, I wish I did some research before wasting my time with them. Same exact story here, got a mailer from a different company with great pre-approval options (classic), called them and then they just bounced me over to Nationwide Loan. Make no mistake, they are NOT the ones issuing you a loan. They DO NOT have any inside access to great deals either. All they do is apply for loans on your behalf to 5-6 financial institutions that you could have applied yourself. And for this tremendous 2 minute Google search effort they want... tada!... 10% of the amount you borrow! So if you get, e.g., a $20k loan @15% APR, factoring in their $2k fee (for nothing) makes it a 19% APR loan (based on the actual cost to you). And they do lock you in with a contract prohibiting to apply with the companies they apply on your behalf. Literally a freaking scam. You are MUCH better off applying for loans yourself just googling most popular and trusted lenders. And saving 10% of the amount borrowed. AVOID his scam. Thank God I ran the numbers before agreeing to their ridiculous terms.
