Placed order 12.31.20. Chased 1.4.21 told 2-3 weeks. Chased 1.25.21 no response. Called today told delivery cancelled 1.25.21. No reason, no notification. You can find other bad reviews. If its too good to be true then it is. They control their reviews using Shopper Reviews who will only publish good reviews.

Nationwide Stereo offers suspiciously low prices on high-end audio equipment. I purchased a set of MartinLogan speakers. They shipped in three batches from an address in Florida, despite the website claiming their warehouses are in Oregon and Los Angeles. When the first set arrived, I found they had been opened and the serial numbers removed. I called the company to ask about the serial numbers and (after being transferred to someone else) was told:

* that they remove them and keep them on file for "warranty purposes", since they provide their own warranty on the products they sell in lieu of the manufacturer warranty;

* that I would not be allowed to have a copy or the serial numbers, since the warranty is non-transferrable and my registration would void it;

* that this is more convenient for customers anyway, since they no longer need to register serial numbers or deal with warranty problems; and

* that since they sell below retail price and are not an authorized dealer, this is how MartinLogan "prefers" they do business.

This story is transparently false, especially since MartinLogan asks consumers not to buy from unauthorized dealers at all.

The speakers appear to be legitimate, first-party articles, but sourced via grey market channels; since the speakers are made in China, perhaps this is a case of "third shift" manufacturing. In any case, without serial numbers, these speakers cannot be authenticated or warrantied, and who knows if my insurance would cover their loss.
