Type of a scam Online Purchase
I received a response back from the true company stating that their name was being used fraudulently and their lawyers had sent cease-and-desist letters however they continue to sell products with their name on it. It was recommended that I check my bank and credit card statements for any charges and dispute them. My bank had already flagged the charge and declined the transaction.
My attempts to contact the fraudulent company came back void by email and phone.
I did receive the product, but I still could not get through to request to return the product.
I then started receiving phone calls from the company requesting payment for the product. I explained what happened and offered to send the product back, but the offer was declined stating it was past the 30 day return date. I explained that the product was not opened and it did not come with a invoice and I could not get through to request a return. I informed the rep that I had proof that the company was using a fraudulent name and product and the rep hung up on me. I received another call about a week later requesting payment and threatening to put it on my credit report. I again explained what happened, informed the rep of fraudulent use and asked to speak to someone in a higher level, but weeks later no one has contacted me. I asked for the website address and a good company email address, but I never got that information.
