I received a text to participate in an online interview process. I received an offer letter the next and completed the forms which were signing the offer letter, W-4, and I-9. I never received a hire date. I completed this task on August 5th. This HR contact has not responded to one email since. In addition, she has blocked me on Zoom. After researching the corporate website, I realized the end of the email should be .com and not org.

Another thing was they wanted to send me a check for me to purchase my own office equipment and software to use to perform my tasks. After investigating on the web, I realized that I should not be receiving a check to deposit into my bank account because it might be a possible fraud.

Therefore, the moral of this story is that one should only respond to legitimate employers to who you have previously reached out by completing the application process. A recruiter should have a contact number for follow-up and an app or an email.

Please send an alert to others regarding this scam for them to avoid.

I applied through Indeed because I was solely looking for remote jobs only at the time, I came across a lot of scams that I could just tell right off the bat because of how they were communicating with me, but this one in particular (naturgy) did a pretty good job. Just to keep it short, they insist you download Telegram which is very similar to WhatsApp, & that is how the interview is conducted shortly after that they go through what the job offers, pay, what to expect, etc. Then they assigned me a task about writing up a report on how to keep customer satisfaction, weird i know, but I did it because it seemed legit, these people used real photos of professionals and took them as their own profile pictures. you can tell its fake. I didnt give any of my info to them and they sent me the I-9 form, w-2 form and all of that which did NOT come into my inbox, it went right to my spam folder (sus) but anyway, before having done anything for these people they sent me a check and a tracking number to be able to tell when it would arrive at my home, it was next day delivery and the check was for $4,990.00. Literally INSANE, & they said it was that much for buying all the equipment needed for the job, they want you to deposit it and show a screenshot or a receipt of the check being deposited so they can get your money stolen. it is really sad out here now a days. Please be careful.
