In February 2010, my husband was contacted on yahoo chat via a woman in her 20s claiming to be from San Jose California called Naveena *******. They chatted for few days and then she started texting and emailing from her personal email address. She claimed she was enrolled in Stanford law school which she did not complete. Eventually she became very interested and they started a relationship, which became very serious and they decided to get married. They planned to meet in March 2010, but before the designated date, she said her father became extremely ill and eventually passed, due to which they could not meet. They decided yet again after couple months in June 2010 to meet and get married, and this time as the time approached she said she was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer. He decided to fly to California to meet her, but by the time she told hime she was taken to India for treatment. Since then she has been taking cancer treatment in London, Kerala (India), and then in Hong Kong for past 8-9 years. On February 14, 2011, she claimed she was married against her will to a family friend (Dr. *******) who is a cardiologist in the UK. She kept saying my husband should not come to meet her but kept calling and emailing him. Then few months later she said she is planning to take a divorce from this man (Dr. *******) and come back to the States. She said they can get married then. Her sister (Priya ******* a.k.a Priya **********) who she claimed was a gynecologist from California was with her throughout this time, she called my husband and said she cannot travel back as her cancer has become worse and they were looking for lung donors in the UK. She kept delaying and in around 2013 she started asking my husband for money for her treatment citing that they have no more money left for treatment. Throughout the above years, she kept asking money from my husband which by 206 had totalled to the amount of $37000+.

She recently reached out to my husband after multiple years in December 2019, and started calling my husband again and sucked him right back into her medical crisis and how she still loves him. She mentioned she was currently getting treatment at Hong Kong Integrated Oncology Center. She is being treated by a doctor who specializes in Thoracic Oncologist. In the US, she mentioned her doctor was Dr. Vikram ****** - Thoracic Oncologist - Phone Number: ###-###-####. I googled for that doctor and phone number, nothing comes up with that.

This time around, since I was around and I saw that he was getting pulled into it again and started trying to explain how this whole things is not real. I suspected this because none of the names that she gave come up on google or anywhere.

After a lot of convincing, finally in July 2020 he stopped entertaining any calls from this woman. After that she called me couple times using blocked numbers and was trying to pull me into her grief filled medical crisis story. I also started receiving blank calls from blocked numbers as well as San Jose area numbers. (One of those numbers is *** *** ****). She claimed that her father left her $17 million in cash along with 5 properties with approximate current value of $8 million. When I asked her to return the money me and my husband had loaned to her, she refused and blocked my number. I asked my husband to report it, but at the time he was too shocked and embarrassed that this happened to him. We want to still take some action if there is someone who can help out.
