I recently registered my business as an LLC and immediately received, by mail, a form instructing me to pay for a certificate of existence. I googled this certificate and found that not only do you NOT apply for it through the fake "NC Certificate Service" but instead the Secretary of State (makes sense, that is where you register as an LLC), but it costs $10 in real life instead of the scammer's request for $82.

Recently registered a small business LLC and received a postal letter from NC Certificate Service stating I owe a fee for registering.Upon viewing it presents itself as a State operated entity but hidden among paragraphs of small text It contains a lone lone sentence stating itself as a solicitation and not affiliated with any state or government entity.
