Nera Logistics Reports & Reviews (2)

This is by far the most elaborate employment scam I’ve ever heard about… I received an email and a voicemail from a “recruiter” for Nera Logistics for a Supply Chain Manager position offering $98K for a job that seemed too good to be true. Approaching with caution, I reviewed the detailed job description and we set up a phone interview. I spoke briefly with the “recruiter” (about 10 minutes) where she asked about 5 generic questions and tried to rush off the phone. She was unable to answer any of the questions I asked and suggested I wait for a follow up interview with the “hiring manager”. I was informed that I already passed a background check, which was weird to me, since that usually happens alongside an actual offer for employment. I tried to conduct research on the company. The website was generic and not very helpful but was not blatantly misleading. According to the website, the company was headquartered in Germany with satellite offices all over the world, including Tampa, FL. What raised red flags is that I could not find the company on BBB, LinkedIn or Glassdoor. So I went a step further and contacted the Tampa Chamber of Commerce to find their official address (which was never provided) and more importantly their tax ID number to ensure they were legit in their American business dealings. I was not able to find anything. When I was contacted by the “hiring manager” I submitted a list of questions via email that ultimately went unanswered. In the meantime, a “training manager” contacted me and sent a few emails with details about the on-boarding process. It consisted of a series of business cases to read and subsequent quizzes to take. After successfully completing 3 of these I was to participate in a practical project. The “training manager” sent the high level details of the project that included researching technology, negotiating pricing, setting up purchasing methods, etc. When I was ready to participate I was then provided more details. I was instructed go into an apple store and purchase 8 different iPhones& that totaled just over $8000 WITH MY OWN CREDIT CARD!!! I was told that upon purchasing I would then request repayment from the company via the bank information they provided. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I sent one last email saying that I was not comfortable with this and I would not be moving forward until they answered all of my previous questions, which I sent to 2 different people I’d been in contact with. Of course no one ever responded.

I received an email from someone claiming to be a recruiter for a logistics company named Nera Logistics promising $98,000 a annually for a Supply Chain Manager position. The email thanked me for my resume but I do not recall sending them a resume. The HR person also called me and left a voice mail and she said they had gotten my information from a job board.

I could not find Nera Logistics on the BBB, Linkedin, or Glassdoor. I was unsuccessful in finding out anything about them on Google either. I did find a website (which they did not provide) under www.neralogistics.com but in looking at the site somethings did not look right - particularly the logo. It is a low-res scan and it reads "NewEra Logistics". I assume that was shortened to Nera Logistics but the site made me a bit uneasy.

I still replied to the email and said I was interested in learning more and I received a follow up email which contained a detailed job description and information about a training period. They said they would "wire" me $3000 for the training period which raised further concerns. They provided a link for me to use to apply and requested that I apply within two days. I clicked on the link but it did not take me anywhere. I copied the link and ran it through an IP tracker (www.urlscan.io) and it reported that the main IP address is to the Russian Federation and that the web address is neralogistics.com and when I clicked on that link it shows that the server for the website NeraLogistics.com is located in Moscow. The website shows Berlin, Germany as the HQ office.

Nothing is right about this offer. No information about the company, the server is in Moscow of the Russian Federation, they promise to "wire" me $3000 during training. It looks like a scam!
