On 1/4/2020 my computer locked up and made a loud sound with a phone number to call. 844-821-1573, They said my computer was infected. They ran all kinds of scans - it looked like Microsoft but in actuality it was a company called netpcexpert. The representatives all have thick Indian accents. They charged me $499 to delete the virus and install all kinds of security software.

Buyers remorse next day when I started to learn I had been scammed. I called and told them I could not afford it. The representative was rude and said that I had consented to the fee.

I told him that I could not afford the fee. He said that they will refund the money to my card in 4-5 days. I wonder if my security has been compromised.
