After two days and many failed hours of trying to connect my new HP printer, I browsed the web and found a place where it implied (I don't remember the exact words) that it was HP itself with help for me. I went ahead and spent about two hours with them. They claimed they "cleaned" my computer - which has me very worried in and of itself, and connected my printer. The printer worked until this morning it is now saying it is not connected. I tried to call the "toll-free" number they gave me to call with any problem and the number does not exist. I called the number listed on their website and got an answering service saying somebody would call me back. They haven't. I paid $99.99 to "fix my computer and connect my printer" and $49.99 for a firewall which I am sure is a scam. They said it would last "forever"! It was not possible until after I paid to learn that they were not actually HP. They did not identify themselves at the outlet, leading me to believe they were HP.

On October 13, 2020, my HP printer wasn't printing so I went on line and was chatting with a HP support technician to see if they could help me resolve my issue. They gave me suggestions but nothing worked so I decided to call. Somehow, I got onto Netpros site which is very similar to HP website and got their telephone number. The support technician that answered the phone gave his name only but I had no reason to think it wasn't HP Support. I explained my problem and the technician said sure he'd be able to fix the problem. He asked for my permission to access my computer so he could see exactly what was wrong. I agreed because of course I thought I was speaking to the manufacturer. In a few minutes he asked me when was the last time I cleaned it. I don't use my computer a lot but he had a display of errors and warning messages that probably came from the internet and emails. In hind sight I now believe they show these errors to everyone. He went on to tell me there would be a one time 99.00 fee to fix printer and give me 1 year service. I agreed. He also offered a firewall protection for 49.00 which I didn't buy. I still thought I was dealing with HP until it came to paying and he stated his company name was Netpros. I said who are you ?? and he quickly said they worked closely with HP. So, red flag .. he wanted all our communication done on message and not email. The printer worked while we were on the phone but I'm still having problems.
Once, we finished our call I didn't feel right about it so I goggled Netpros only to see all the complaints several almost identical to my experience. I called them back and told them that they are scammers and frauds. I was transferred to a manager and told him I was going to report them. Netpros is well aware that you think you're talking to HP Support and they take advantage of seniors and people who don't understand technology. Please don't use this company .. they just take your money.
