If You Pay for an Award, it's a Scam
No. That's not true. Major industry awards are given without any sort of compensation. In my industry (entertainment), Emmys, Grammys, Academy Awards, Tonys, Globes, Pulitzers, etc... are all given w/o compensation. In fact, in many cases, major awards provide a gift to the recipient, such as a cash prize (Nobel, Fields, etc.).
If you pay for an award, or a listing in "Who's Who" --- it's a scam.
