I clicked on a phoney copy-cat Home Depot website , that gave a warning that my computer had been hacked , and it froze and took control of my mouse so it would not move . I closed the laptop, but on reopening it nothing changed .So I called the phone number in the warning alarm which claimed to fix my computer. Now I belive this was all a part of the scam. They downloaded a app called my desk which remotely took over my computer and made changes . they could see everything on my computer, passwords, mail. everything. then they claimed my IP address was compromised and a company named Nexco secure shop would restore and fix things for 400.00. I foolishly belived them because they seemed professional with security codes and numbers they were giving me. but I think they were just stalling for more hacking time.Now I have a lot of work to do to prevent them from stealing my idenity even more. hope this information helps.
