I received a bogus email from this organization, Nexus Trademarks, saying I have not registered my brand name with the Patent & Trademark Office, and another company is trying to trademark the business name I have had for 18 years. They stated, “Your immediate attention to this matter is of utmost importance. Please respond promptly to avoid any potential complications in securing your trademark.” They also stated I had 4 days to respond before the company would take over and Trademark my business name.

Fortunately, I contacted the Trademarks Special Task Force on Improper Activities with the USPTO United States Patent and Trademark Office. They immediately informed me that it was a scam and to consider contacting the Federal Trade Commission to submit a fraud complaint https://reportfraud.ftc.gov, the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center https://ic3.gov, my state’s Attorney General’s Office, and the Better Business Bureau.
