the "caller" asked "can you hear me? i'm having trouble with my bluetooth. (pause) almost, almost." then the call ended.

I am pretty keen with what is legit and what isn't, but I have noticed they have started using regular terms/phrases we use in America. They often use business terms but causal action or causal terms for a prominent position. I ALWAYS check the email address, look at the name, and google the name and email to see if it is actually tied to a business or website. If they are really good, I will look at reviews of their business (have not had to go that far yet, but would if needed).

My 84-year old mother keeps receiving yellow postcards in the mail with 'Third Notice' written on them and 'I've done all I can to get a hold of you and this is my last resort. Please turn this card over....It's important that I hear from you ASAP." The card tells her to call a number and listen to a recording and to keep the "matter private." She is frightened by the tone and thinks she has done something wrong. I told her it was a scam, probably to buy her house, but I didn't call the number. Her 60ish year old neighbors did not receive the card. If you can stop whoever it is that is sending these to the elderly, I would greatly appreciate it.

I received 2 emails from [email protected] and [email protected].

Both claiming they sexual content video of me and that they had access to my contacts and would email the video to my family and friends. They want me to pay them money so they wouldn't send the video out to my contacts.

I have attached a screen shot of one of the emails. This is the sextortion scam I've heard about.

Charged $72.00 from a "WIX.com" onto our company's credit card. No name, no address. Phone number provided is fake and does not work. URL info says the registrant is in Tel Aviv, Israel.

I live in Oregon and got a letter warning me that my vehicles warranty is expiring and that if I do not replace covage I’m liable for different things. First I do not have a vehicle and have not for years and when I did have one I never had a warranty. I had insurance for all that. This bugs me cause I do not really know who to report this scam too so I came to bbb to file a report.

- Collegedale, TN, USA

I received a postcard stating that they had tried to deliver a package to me and asking that I can a number and provide the tracking number printed on the postcard. Since it did not have any identifiable information, I did not call and instead researched it and many people indicated this was a scan.

- Raleigh, NC, USA

Phone called received stating that my car is about to lose its warranty and says they can sign you up for a new one. Robot asks you if you would like to speak to a customer rep several times even when you answer, then provides a could prompts, one being to be put on their DNC list, which I did. Seemed like the type of scam that records your voice say "Yes" to authorize purchases.

A rep named Brandon came into my business office noting he had 100yds of asphalt in his truck that he could not use at another residential job down the road (I could see the dump truck from my business parking lot) and he would reduce rate in order to use it before it went bad-said 100 yds in truck would cover a large portion of our parking lot and it would be $1900-I signed a contract and 4hours later my parking lot was shoddy and the rep was demanding a check for $8308-said he underestimated the load of asphalt left over in truck. I called the police and he said well how about $6900-as there were only 2 of us ladies in the office that day and he was saying he would take us to court for failure to pay for services I wrote him a check for $6900 and he left as the police were pulling into the parking lot. I tried to look up the business online and reverse search the phone number on the business card and cannot find any addresses or names. I cannot even file a formal ScamPulse.com complaint as there is no known address.

- Cortez, CO, USA

This person posted an advertisement for a rental on the website housesforrent.ws. The actual rental listing is mine but I did not post it on this website. They took my info and created a fake ad with a reduced rental price. I reported the ad to houses for rent twice but they have still not removed the ad.

Received a Delivery notice card in mail. It has a "first class card" stamp on it. The phone number on the back is 615-647-0663

Unsolicited fax - no company name or address. States, "Start Planning Your Funtacular Vacation NOW!!!" Lists too-good-to-be-true prices on various vacation packages (for example, 7 days/6 nights to Hawaii for $249 - accommodations and airfare included). Lists only a phone number. (nobody answers when you call it)
