I was contacted saying I was eligible for Wisconsin’s student loan forgiveness program. There is no such thing, though of course there is the federal student loan forgiveness. I didn’t call them back because I was pretty sure it was bogus so I didn’t find out any more information. I do think it’s convincing, especially the use of Wisconsin phone numbers to call back to you.

- Jackson, TN, USA

Received this transcribed on voicemail:

“_?_?_ _?_?_ number the number is 312-517-2591 I repeat 312-517-2591 call us back as there is a legal case been file on your name kindly call us back so that we can discuss about your legal case and take care of this matter…” goes on to say call the number or a warrant may be issued for my arrest, assuming they were trying to get personal info or maybe trying to get me to give credit card info as “payment” to resolve “lawsuit” either way voice on message was a computer and some kind of scam

- Aurora, IL, USA

Second call in a week from this phone number stating that legal action will be taken against me if I, or my attorney do not call them back. A "Renee' Porter" states that "severe" action will be taken against me. A threatening voice mail is left, however, there is no company name used, no mention of said "bill owed", nothing. Very disturbing when nowadays you have to PAY to get info on a phone number. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would like to report on a robocall we keep receiving, sometimes as often as three a day. A woman who can hardly speak a correct English sentence, tells us that

we are under investigation for allegations about our tax filings. She claims that if we call this number (315-232-8406) she can help us avoid arrest by the “cops.”

We have kept a recording of two or three of these calls. Of course, we do not respond, but the frequency of them is more than annoying and we felt that we

should contact someone about them.

- Gainesville, FL, USA

Had phone call and when I answered person ID'd themselves as Emma or something like that, from an online employment service and asked if I could hear her okay, I replied that " I can barely Hear You but Yes" and the phone line disconnected. Never got a call back and when I tried to call number it just played quick music tone and disconnected again.

Computer message alleges they have tried to contact me during the last six months without a response and now my file will be downloaded into the courthouse and is considering this to be an intentional fraud against me and my family against the United States. The above number was given for me to contact them for additional information.i did not recognize the number so I did not answer the call. This message was left on my voice mail.

you realize there is something out of place with the call

Caller called using a ghost number for our local Wells Fargo branch (number above) and the caller asked if I could hear them ok and I said "uh huh"...then they started in with wanting to know if we wanted to invest financial and I realized it was a recorded call. I called the Wells Fargo branch and it was not them. Not sure if it was targeted to our business or personal because we had the business phone forwarded to our cell phone.

This just happened so we haven't received any false charges or anything yet, but will be on the look out.

Caller is female and asks, "Can you hear me". Once I said, "yes", she goes on to tell me about a trip I can go on and she will be transferring me to someone who can further assist. There is never a LIVE person on the other end. They just coax you into saying, "Yes" so they can say that you ordered a service or authorized a purchase when you did NOT.

- San Angelo, TX, USA

Robo call; voice says IRS has started a lawsuit against me; there is a warrant out for my arrest; call 281-954-9789 before lawsuit takes effect. At no point does the robo voice mention my name. Received the robo calls twice, 20 March 2017 and again 21 March 2017, 1145 Central Time

- Saint George, UT, USA

Caller asked for me by name. I said "Speaking", they said my name name again and I said "yes". Then the caller immediately hung up.

When I answered the phone, I was greeted by a woman who said, "This is Brooke. We're being recorded. Can you hear me OK?"

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

Received a call on my cell phone & when I answered a male asked "Can you here me okay?" I gave a grunt saying yea but it wasn't completely intelligible. Then a recording came on telling me I have been selected to receive something, which I did not hear because I hung up the phone.
