As in previous user's description, I received a letter giving "Final Notice" the "Home warranty" on my property " may be expiring or may have already expired". The header on the letter refers to the " Home Warranty Dept." with no further description except to include in bold letters Lender Info: followed by the name of my lender. The notice includes a phone number, and gives an expiration date of 4/15/2023. Attached to the letter is a section that at first glance appears to be a check for $199. At the very bottom in small print is the comment " Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder."
I only saw that last item in small print in giving you details. Initially, not recalling I had any home warranty, but being concerned I was being contacted by my lender with a threat of a recall on my loan as would occur if homeowners insurance lapses, I called the number and requested clarification. The sender asked for personal information up front, however, I insisted he identify himself first. In subsequent conversation he told me he wasn't my lender and the mortgage wasn't at risk. At that point I told him I felt this was deceptive advertising and hung up.
