We met on a dating app, and after a couple of days of perfectly normal conversation he asked if I wanted to text outside of the app, I said ok.
Conversation was perfectly normal and appropriate and then he asked if I was interested in learning how to trade cryptocurrency. I had mentioned to him that I'm going into college and could use extra money to help pay tuition..
I cannot afford to trade cryptocurrency, when he told me the amount was a minimum of $200. I told him I couldn't afford it. So he did not end up getting money out of me, but he tried.
What tipped me off that he might not be legit originally, is that a photo he sent me had an Instagram username attached to it, and when I clicked on it it went to his Instagram profile but under a completely different name.
Based on his Instagram account he appears to be located in italy, not texas, and not North Dakota as the dating profile says.
I do not know how much information needs to go in here, but this is the gist of what happened.
