I received a letter saying that I have an outstanding balance with FedEx and that North Shore Agency is collecting on that debt. And while I do have a FedEx account, I am up to date with my bills and would not have an outstanding balance.

I received an invoice in the mail from North Shore Agency in the amount of $20.00. The company stated they are collecting a debt from a subscription, The Nation. The invoice also stated I had failed to respond to prior notices from The Nation.

I had neither subscribed to The Nation nor have I received any subscription to The Nation, which I have no interest in receiving.

Interestingly, in smaller print on the back of the invoice, it states you have 30 days to respond as to whether this dispute is valid, otherwise, they will assume it is valid.

Not sure if this is an attempt to sign up subscribers or what it is, however, if you didn't order the subscription, don't pay it! Seems like others are having this issue too with both the debt collector and The Nation from what I can find on the internet.

This debt collection company has been harassing me for several months for a Forbes magazine subscription I didn't buy or subscribe too. I have been sending nasty mails back to them and Forbes customer service and yet they still ask for money. Not only that, but they have the wrong name is which they're asking for money! Plus, I've sent many mails back explaining this. After doing research online, I found that this agency is a debt scam in New York and other states.
