Type of a scam Rental
We paid a month's rent as a "holding fee" and then paid deposits on top. We thought everything was fine until we realized two major red flags. First, the agent, Luci Goins, disappeared. Literally. She never responded to email after the fake lease was signed, never answered her phone, was simply gone. We couldn't get a move-in date confirmed, which is pretty important when you're trying to MOVE. Secondly, we noticed our lease was being updated behind the scenes. No explanation, no new lease sent out. Just new pages added and others removed. This is ILLEGAL. You can't change a contract on a whim.
When we finally received feedback from Luci (apartment manager/leasing agent/whatever title she wants to claim), she screamed at us and hung up because we had waited a week to finally hear back on a move-in date, at which point we'd already announced move out date to our current apartment and scheduled movers and changed our address with USPS. We told her this was unprofessional, and she the told us they'd keep our holding fee (one month's rent), after we'd also paid a processing fee.
A total scam to make money off people looking for a cheaper place to live during these hard times. Avoid at all costs!
