Norton Antivirus subscription renewal. Reports & Reviews (1)

My husband was sent an email saying he was charged 499.99 for a Norton Antivirus subscription renewal. We do not have this subscription. He sent me the email, I called the number provided. A person answered and told me he would cancel my subscription and refund my money but needed to walk me through a website. He asked me to go to my laptop and type in www.anydesk.com. I immediately became alarmed because it wasn't the Norton website. I then paused and said I didn't want to put in any of my information. Eventually, he got belligerent and told me I was a dumb lady and called me stupid. I told him this was a scam and he said he would lock my computer if I hung up. He also got really aggressive with me and told me to just go to the website and do what he told me to. I went to my Norton website and logged into my old account and confirmed I did not have any active subscriptions and told him so. He got upset. I told him I was going to alert the ScamPulse.com and he continued to call me a dumb lady.

After I hung up with him I had my husband confirm his credit card wasn't charged and it was not. It was an entire email scam to get us to call them and give them our confidential information. Thankfully, I didn't get that far.
