NYCleaners Reports & Reviews (1)

- New York, NY, USA

David claims to be a technician for a full-service rug and furniture cleaning company called NYCleaners. The "company" has a very professional-looking web site at www.cleaning-services-nyc.com. However, it appears not to be a real company, and there appear to be no employees besides David and his associate, Jenny, who answers the phone.

NYCleaners posts several “locations” on its website, including 215 W 101st St Suite 2B. That is a fraudulent address: it’s just a private apartment with another person’s name on it. There is no actual office of any kind there. The Brooklyn address, 312 Tomkins Ave, may be fraudulent as well: Photos show a boarded-up building and some stores, but no signs advertising a carpet cleaner office.

When asked, Jenny does not know the name of her employer or the location of the facility that actually cleans the rugs. She will not say where she is when she answers the phone. When asked, David will not provide the location of the facility. He does return the rugs clean, but it appears that he is just taking them to another carpet cleaner, and charging an exorbitantly high fee for the service.

I estimate a loss of $1000 because it turns out that other carpet cleaners in the area would have cleaned my rugs for about $1000 less.
