Type of a scam Online Purchase
I used my ******* *** credit card (thankfully using the virtual credit card setting, with randomly selected numbers) to purchase.
They emailed me with confirmation email, and shipped email.
Item ordered was a shoe cabinet for $50.98, item received was a tiny yellow backpack, with a likely value of about 50 cents.
I tried clicking the link for tracking on their website and it showed "item not found." I tried a different provided link, and my browser wouldn't load, and began acting strangely. I immediately took protective actions, changing my email password, running virus scanning on my phone. I continue to monitor, if in fact hacking is attempted, as I suspect.
I then called ******* *** and spoke with their fraud department. They made a report and have contacted the seller. They have not yet received a response.
I also contacted the seller. They have since responded back, demanding that I return their incorrect and nearly valueless merchandise before refund is issued. This is after much back and forth. Initially they attempted to have me "give the merchandise to a friend, and receive a 40% refund" in order to "reduce my hassle."
Internet search of this business reveals numerous websites declaring this business to be a fraud. It is very unfortunate I did not complete this search before I purchased from them.
Shutting this business down before they scam hundreds more American consumers would be advised.
