Ocean Project Reports & Reviews (21)

For 2 years I was able to track a turtle named "Crush" as a gift. As of a couple months ago sadly I could not. The whole website disappeared, as well as crush !
Also, the jewelry is NOT sterling silver. I have a serious allergy to cheap stuff , so I promise you I know.

You may not know, but Ocean Project (sister site to WildlifeMission.co [closed] and turtlejourney.co) has been stealing and illegally using other charities' FREE marine animal tracking information and selling cheap jewelry with it, taking advantage of people looking for cool and unique gifts.

The animal tracking links MANY customers have reported are for Ocearch, Miami Shark Research or trackturtles.com and is stolen information and DOES NOT profit these real organizations.

There is no proof that these purchases support any ocean life, but FREE information is being stolen and sold for profit. Additionally, the jewelry can be found for $5 on AliExpress. They are alloy, NOT sterling silver as they say on the website. This has affected customers with metal allergies.

I purchased a whole lot for my mothers birthday as she loves sea turtles and marine life but have since found out it was a scam and the research is being stolen and used. My parcel is on the way but I've now also purchased from the real website to try and make up for my mistake and make sure all these beautiful animals get sponsored.

Fraudulent Company! 100% scam!

I bought and received a bracelet from Ocean Project (which I'd seen ads for on Facebook). It came with a QR code and information about the sea turtle we were sponsoring, HOWEVER, I later discovered that they steal legitimate tracking data/info about endangered animals and claim it as their own. None of the money goes to wildlife or nature conservation!

These people are out to take your money. Reported them to Facebook as well as leaving bad reviews anywhere I can. Horrible customer service or should I say non existent, then to find reviews where everyone has the same issue. How are they not shut off social media web sites? Do not buy from them - scammers is the worst way.

The scam is both "Counterfeit Product & Charity" They get you to buy jewelry to save ocean life. You will receive tracking info to track the ocean animal you chose. However, they are using STC software legally and no money goes to saving sea life. Here is the proof.

Sea Turtle Conservancy:

**SCAM ALERT!** If you came to this page from Fahlo (previously Wildlife Collections), that’s great! If not, we wanted to warn you about companies operating under a variety of names are selling products online and illegally using STC’s tracked turtles as a perk to buyers. If you have been offered a STC tracked turtle by purchasing something from Mahola, Club Ocean, Tidalia, Earth Lives, Ocean Lives, Ocean Project.co (not to be confused with ‘The Ocean Project‘), Blue Ocean, Turtle’s Journey, Wildlife Team, Wildlife Mission, Wildlife Charm, or Ocean Better, they have used Sea Turtle Conservancy’s turtle tracking information without our permission. The one exception is “Fahlo,” which has an exclusive partnership with STC involving our tracked turtles.

Should have read reviews before purchasing! Ordered back in November and received email stating order received followed by an email saying shipped with a tracking number. Weeks and weeks passed with no update so I checked the tracking number inly to find the item still hadn't even been sent to USPS so I emailed ocean project. I received a reply saying the item had been sent and should be with me shortly. Again weeks passed so I checked the tracker again to find still not shipped. I emailed multiple times over the following week with no response from the company so I went onto the website and made contact through enquiries. I asked for my order to be cancelled due to the poor level of service. I finally got a response offering me a 30% refund to which I replied with please can I just cancel the order as it still hadn't been sent. I was then offered a 20% refund?! Again I asked to just cancel the order. After a little wait I received an email saying they would cancel and my refund would be with me in 5-7 days. This was weeks ago now and still nothing. Absolutely terrible service and even worse customer service!

I ordered on November ** and still have not received my 3 products for $60. Shipping delay they said. Couldn’t refund me because I had not received product yet. Then in an email said would refund me over 30% extra. Just want my money back! Won’t answer any emails or phone calls.

This is a scam. They claim that they are an organization that helps save sea turtles. They also state on their website that "Plastic has been found in 99% or sea turtles causing them to die a painful death". Well I found out they steal their tracking from STC ( Sea Turtle Conservancy). When my order arrived, I immediately thought it was strange that is was in a plastic bag, then I noticed my sea turtles tracking only updated once every two days (and when it would update, my turtle would be in the same spot). So my research began. I found where they steal their tracking from STC, and the STC has a notice up wanting people of their website (and other websites), I then did a reverse image search of "my turtle" and found its picture was posted in 2014, so after hours more of research I learned that they tracking devices do not stay on for longer than two years. So there is no way a turtle that was tagged in 2014 is still being tracked. This company is a fake. They half way ripped up another legit website call THE OCEAN PROJECT, whereas this scam website is "ocean project". I'm so heartbroken to know known of my money went to a foundation to actually help save sea turtles.

I was referred to this website by a friend. Bought 3 necklaces for my niece, daughter and myself. We were all excited to track our turtles, but learned our turtles location was stolen by scammers. I'm truly disappointed and my daughter is now let down.

We ordered a bracelet that was said to give money to help clean up the oceans and also the bracelet was to be able to track a shark and see and learn about the migration patterns. We choose this for Christmas because it was teaching about charity and giving as well as educational. It took months to receive the bracelet then there was no “QR” code to scan and track a shark. Once finally we received the bracelet the package was so crappy we could tell we were scammed. Just want to prevent this from happening to others.

This “company” is an absolute scam. I ordered 1 shark bracelet and 2 turtle necklaces. I placed my order on 11/11. They were going to be Christmas gifts. It is now 12/30 and nothing has been received. I have emailed multiple times about my order and I get no response. When you call the company, no one answers even though they say 24/7 customer support on website. When I did call the recording says they are too busy to answer and you must email. I spent $50+, now it’s a lost I suspect after looking at all these reviews. Also, says shipped from Arizona.... total lie. Straight outta China! So disappointed and disgusted that I thought I was helping the oceans out and my kids would be able to track an animal. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

I made two separate purchases through the companies website after seeing their advertisement on Facebook. I received a very authentic looking confirmation emails but the products were never shipped. I have since reached out to the company multiple times. Initially, they said that the product had shipped and that I would receive tracking details. The product has not arrived after several weeks and they are no longer responsive to email or phone calls. I have disputed the credit card charges with AMEX and have sent seen that many other individuals order products from the company without receiving them (via Facebook forums). It appears as though they are attempting to utilize the reputation of a similarly named, legitimate, organization called Project ocean that is currently working with Facebook to have the fraudulent company removed.

I found this company Ocean Project through a Facebook ad, advertising a charity that sold jewelry, that came with a tracking code to sponsor a Sea Turtle and follow it's journey. After purchasing the necklace and scanning our code, we discovered the that actual charity who tracks the turtles has nothing to do with Ocean Project, and does not get any of the money used for the purchase. It's disgusting that this fake charity "Ocean Project" is taking advantage of buyers during the holidays.

It is apparently an illegal site that sells jewelry that comes with a tracker for a loggerhead sea turtle that isn’t real. They are selling jewelry stating it comes with a turtle to track and all it is, is to take your money to buy that jewelry. They took my money.

I ordered a turtle necklace from Oceans Project from a link on facebook for total of $24.94. I received a confirmation email with "tracking" information. A tracking number and a link tohttps://webtrack.dhlglobalmail.com/, the information on this page is that the package is En route when you paste the tracking number it brings up the above website, also linked is this https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input?origTrackNum=9374869903505959... This website informs you that USPS is awaiting your package. I ordered the necklace on 12/10/20, This is December 21st no further information from the company has been forthcoming. In my opinion this Company is a fictitious organization that exists to steal money from unsuspecting consumers and the facebook link is complicit in this theft.

They claim to be a charitable organization that supports marine wildlife with a portion of their profits being donated yet you do not receive your products, tracking info doesnt work. They just steal your money.

I ordered merchandise from their site. It has been 16 days and on my "track your package" app, it states it's in transport. I have sent 5 emails, they do not respond. I messaged them on FB messenger, they blocked me. They also blocked me from warning others on their FB page. I called their 1800 number, the representitive I spoke with would not give me her name or her bosses name. I demanded a refund, she hung up on me. Now no one answers the phone. There is a real ScamPulse.com accredited company called THE ocean project and they are using that companies name to get people to purchase marine life jewelry where you can track an actual turtle in real life. I've been in contact with that company and they are trying to get ocean project shut down as well.

- Clarksville, TN, USA

This company is advertising sea turtle necklaces on social media that come with a tracking number and information on individual turtles but they are using stolen tracking programs from a real charity (Wildlife Collections) to do so.

- Albuquerque, NM, USA

I purchased some items on the site oceanproject.co that I found via Facebook. The items never arrived and the company does not exsist. Do NOT buy from these people.
