I was going online to purchase my Illinois plate sticker. I thought I was on the correct page but this site popped up and looked like it was the correct site. They charged me $39.99 processing fee and they are not government affiliated. I called the company a couple times and they gave me the run around.

I went online to renew my license plates for my state. When I looked this up and licked on my DOT website I was redirected to the scam site Wisconsincarregistration.org. They asked for personal information about my car, mainly license plate number and zip code to find me, then they asked for mailing address info and then payment info. Once completed they gave me what seemed to be a confirmation screen with no charge amount or any of my information to show that I had done a safe and reliable transaction. They ended up charging me over $100 and I in turn had to cancel the card I paid with and dispute the charge. Be aware that they are out there!!
