I was at a shopping parking lot waiting for my wife to finish shopping. My 2014 Nissan Versa was busted up a little bit and two men in a SUV approached me asking if I had trouble opening my door (which I did). One of them talked to me and seemed very knowledgeable about car repair and quoted me $450 if I was willing to let them fix it on the spot and paid cash. I took it. They fixed the door, dents on the side, and my front left lights and put it back into place. They admitted that they were using simpler cheaper ways to fix it, which I was ok with. Turns out I was talking to the "nice guy."

The second guy came over after they were done and told me they worked on "parts more than they thought at the beginning" including putting the air bag sensor back into place. Seemed credible but he said it should be $1940 since "I put a clip in." That's ridiculous.

I pushed back and said I'll only give $1000 top but they came back with $1600. I decided to take it since I felt I saved money, time and I wanted to be on my way. I thought the actual repair job was ok.

Looking up some info online, can't believe I fell for this while I was rushing.
