I had applied for an administrator assistant position with one mind and body which is a gym based in LA CA. The position was a remote position in Philadelphia. I was contacted via text message with updates on the position and received an interview but did not talk to a person on the phone or zoom. Once I was offered the position i received an email for my on boarding paperwork to fill out and send back. Once that was done they told me they would be sending me a check to deposit to be able to use to purchase my office equipment. Once I got my office set up then i would be starting my 2 week of training for the position. I had went to my bank to review the check if it was real or fake. They determined it was a fake check and to not deposit it as I will have to pay the bank back when the check bounced. They wanted a photo showing I deposited the check to move forward.

I was offered a job and filled out paperwork with my bank information and a W-9 which included my SSN. They sent me a check but I never cashed it or did anything with it yet. I called 1 mind and body in California and they even knew it was a fake business. I found this job posting on indeed.
