One Net Care Reports & Reviews (4)

My wife received an saying she had a "Trojan Virus" on her computer. The message came with a Microsoft support number that she needed to call to fix the problem. I messaged microsoft to see if the number was a legit number. I called the number and talked to an individual by the name of Timothy Lee. This individual sounded very professional and explained everything in detail. He informed me that the company had been open for years and had hundreds of customers. Their website is also very convincing.

After he fixed the "so called problem" he convinced me that my system didn't have a firewall and I needed to buy a one thru them.

They told me it would be a one time payment and because I am over 65 I would get a discount so the price was $699.00.

One Net Care works with Data Service Pro which sell themselves as a computer repair, service and upgrade company. The overall ordeal lasted over 3 hours.

After I finshed talking to 3 different individual and (being stupid) buying the firewall, I called a friend of mine and told him of my experience.

We did some internet research and discovered that the website for Onenetcare.com was just started the day before they called me and the company itself has no record with the BBB. The company Data Service Pro is actually came up as a Accounting and Payroll rervice and not a computer service company.

Consumer called BBB, indicating had fallen victim to a scam. Said she initially had a strange pop-up on her computer, then received a call from someone saying they were with "One Net Care," and would fix the issues with the consumer's computer for $1799. When consumer told "One Net" she couldn't afford $1799, the caller lowered price to $799, and had consumer log in to a website to make payment. Says "One Net" took control of her computer, which concerned her. (Contacted her bank to dispute the charge, will be reaching out to trusted tech support to make sure "One Net" doesn't try to access remotely again.) Website for company (http://onenetcare.com) appears to have been registered on 2/26/22.
