I was approached their email for a job position that I had once found on LinkedIn. It was a proofreading position that was work from home. I applied online and then I was reached out a couple days later through email about continuing the process. I was told the scope of the position and I sent my driver's license. (My driver's license has since been updated.) They then sent me three separate checks each in the amount of $4985.50 to be the deposited into my bank to pay for computers, hardware, hard drives, that were all related to the position. Once I had paid, I was put into the red and I was out of the money. I genuinely thought I had gotten a job so I proceeded like I had. I'm used to working with honest people. Once I knew that everything was faked, I made a report to the FBI, the police department, and my bank where the fraudulents had occurred. I suspect that these people are actually acting as the company and maybe not the company in question.
