I was looking to purchase Marlboro ultra light cigarettes online and the website https://cigarettesroad.com/ popped up in my google search. It looked legit at the first glance. I typed in all my delivery information , including my first and last name. I was prompted to accept terms and conditions before clicking on 'Place order'. I only saw the PayPal option box ticked by default, and I thought they would prompt me afterwards with options for PayPal or Visa because thier website displays Visa and other logos to deceive and make it more credible. After I clicked Place Order, it gave me a message that my order was placed , and I was wondering at what point I would need to pay for this. Then, I received two automated emails from them asking me to send them money through PayPal wit the following instructions: " Send Payment Of Your Order To Our PayPal Email Address — [email protected] As PERSONAL OPTION ONLY (Friends & Family). IMPORTANT: Only Payments Sent As Friends & Family Will Be Accepted. Payments sent with other way may be lost. We are not responsible for your money if you did not send it with “Friend & Family” option. * "

Obviously I didnt send them any money, but I reported their website to the FTC.gov fraud commission. Their website also offers various deceptive tabs like HELP or REFUND & RETURN, CONTACT, ABOUT, etc. It also advises at some point that an order may take between 16 to 24 days, which gives them time to deceive the customer for 1 month .knowing that after 1 month PayPal won't open a dispute form. They could use all the personal info that people provide to also attempt to steal more personal info. Their email went straight to my spam folder , and probably other people also reported them. Their PayPal related gmail address has a Polish name, but it might not be real. They also made some grammar/syntax English mistakes which shows their English is a second language.
