These people are looking at publicly listed resumes on Indeed.com (I thought mine was private, my mistake.) They text you that they are interested in you for a job, your qualification match, etc. Then they want you to download Telegram app. You have to add a firing manager to your contacts (the one I was given was Gonzalo *******). They claim to be with Urbaser S.A. (which is listed out of California), but the address they give is in Delaware. It's all scripted responses, copy and pasted. They'll ask for your name and city. I gave my name (they had it from my resume anyway) and the name of the city next to me. They give a lot of professional looking company information and even send a website link (urbaser.com/en). They then ask a series of interview questions that seem harmless: what are you most proud of? Describe a time when you made a mistake and how did you resolve it? What level of Microsoft Excel are you: beginner, intermediate, basic.) I gave the most generic, full of crap answers I could, with little detail. Finally they ask you to stay new your device, and 20 minutes later they inform you that you are a great fit and offer you the job. I asked for a phone number so I could speak to a live representative to confirm. The response was that my direct supervisor would contact me. They then asked for an email to send my new hire forms to (W-4, I-9). I gave them my backup to my backup email. They asked if I prefer direct deposit or check. I said deposit. They asked what bank I use so they can confirm its compatible with their side of things. I again said I need to speak to a representative before giving anything, including just a bank name. The person then exited the chat. When I attempted to further communication, I found that I was blocked.

Watch out for:

Using a company name that actually exists and addresses that exist (though maybe not go together)

Professional profile pics

Requiring an app download

Refusing to give a phone number

Asking anything about a bank in any way
