Type of a scam Online Purchase
So this company wanted me to pay for a marketing/advertising program to get the word out about my novel. I looked at all the paperwork and did my research. I even asked questions too about anything I was unsure of.
But after that was done, I made two payments with my credit card months ago and got the receipts for it. Included in this complaint is the contract I was asked to look at and sign. Please let me know if there's any other paperwork that is needed.
Adventure Time Narratives took my payment and remained in contact with me until December of 2022. I assumed with the holiday season that they were busy and had a lot of work to get through. This was an incorrect assumption. I got nervous and suspicious when I went to the link they provided me and the website was taken down. All phone numbers I have or emails were unanswered. I firmly believe they scammed me and ran away with my money.
In the contract I signed when I purchased their marketing program, it says that "Once Author already signed this agreement and the preparations of the materials have been started, either party may not terminate the agreement. At any time, for any reason, you feel dissatisfied with our service/s, feel free to contact us so we can work on any reasonable and satisfactory resolutions."
The problem with this statement is I cannot reach or contact anyone. It is absolutely ridiculous and unfair. I am completely dissatisfied with their methods but to negotiate a settlement or refund is difficult because I can't speak to anyone about this matter. I need assistance. The receipts for my transactions for the money I spent is also included as well.
