I am writing this to share an experience my mother had that I am in the midst of trying to help her resolve with no success. My mother signed up for a free trial of an app called "Better Me". She can not remember how or where she saw the ad, but stated that it was on her phone (it may have been through push notification or the web, not but social media as she does not use social media). The free trial became a monthly fee. The problem starts when I tried to help her cancel the subscription. My mother had deleted the app, believing it would cancel the payments. I tried to log back in to her account with Better Me World in order to cancel the subscription, but my mother cognitive impairment and forgot the password. I requested a password reset multiple times through the app and by email with no reply at all from the company. Yet, when I enter my own email into the password retrieval I get an email immediately stating something like "you do not have an account, click her to join" so clearly this function of their website is working. When I go to the company page (https://betterme.world/subscription-terms#cancelation) it states to cancel the subscription through Google Pay, but there is no option to do so on Google Play. I have attempted to contact the company on the app and by email multiple times with absolutely no reply. I can not find a phone number for the business anywhere on the web. I contacted my mothers bank in attempt for them to stop payments, however they stated that they can not do so with any certainty that the money will not be forced out and that also requires a fee.
