I purchased the tickets to The Lights Festival in Toronto and could not get a refund of $281.35 for the tickets and $20 for parking. When I arrived at the event, I was turned away by the police due to it being cancelled as well as them not even having an event permit after driving over two hours to attend the event; there was no communication on the The Light Festival team's end that it was cancelled as well. There are many other complaints seen in their Instagram comments from angry customers @thelightsfest and more indicents can be seen on the @lightsfestscam Instagram where they have been scamming people for years and pretending to be other companies.

My friends who were able to get into the event due to them going earlier was told by The Lights Festival team that the police and fire department did not allow them to light the lanterns. Hundreds of people were furious and still lit the lanterns without permission.

The Lights Festival team has still yet to address this issue and issue a refund for 11,000 people who were supposed to attend this event. There were many incidents similar to this in other cities where they did not issue a refund after cancelling events and much more.
