Professional hoax! On Facebook Marketplace, an ad appears for a brand-new piano for free. I message the lady who she says that her sister is just lost her husband, and she has a piano that she doesn't want anymore. All, I need to do is email the lady and make arrangements with her. I email her sister who confirms that she has a great piano, wants it to go to a good home - doesn't want to sell it; doesn't have the space for it. Wanted to here our story about why we would love this piano. She gives me contact information for the mover, and recommends I chat live online. I confirm with the shipping company the details of the piano, confirming that it is indeed a Yamaha U3 upright - This feels too good to be true, but I'm super happy. They tell me that I can pay by e-transfer, which I have no objection, because I have done legitimate business through e-transfers before, plus it's easier. The only thing I found weird was that they did not confirm which city the piano was being shipped out of. I e-transferred the money, and after that, I never heard of them again. The company is TONY INNAIMO TRANSPORT - they have 3 branches: Charlotte, NC, North York, ON and Australia. Their online address is 1408 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. I contacted a seller on FB Marketplace that had posted a beautiful looking white upright Yamaha piano and the seller said that her sister's husband had just died and that she was looking to get rid of the piano quickly before her move to the US. She provided me with her sister's email address and suggested I reach out to her directly, which I did. Her sister corroborated the story about her late husband over email and said I would only have to pay the cost of the re-routing with the moving company, Tony Innaimo Transport. She provided me with a reference number and told me to give the moving company her name, which I did. The moving company and I had an online chat about the re-routing and they quoted me the cost of the service. Only when I looked up reviews of the moving company TONY INNAIMO TRANSPORT did I find this website report and realized this is a scam. Fortunately, I had not yet sent any money for the move of the piano, although I was admittedly very close to sending an e-transfer until I saw this website's report, thankfully. It was a well crafted scam that almost got the better of me, it seems.
