An ad for clothing styling service Lumi appeared on my Instagram feed. After following the link, I was led to a page with subscription options under which a clear "30-day money back guarantee" was included if you were unhappy with your service. KNowing that was an option, I chose the best deal of an annual subscription for $109.64. After providing my credit card information and being charged, I received a notification that I would need to download their app to use the service. The app required the latest version of Apple's operating system. After updating my system and using the app, I was unimpressed with the tool and how it functioned. Several of the links were buggy and didn't lead to the correct place. Furthermore, as I was signing in to the app, several pop-ups appeared along the way asking if I wanted other services, one of which would not let me skip until I accepted it, charging me an additional ***.

I decided to unsubscribe and receive my money back well within the 30 day window. In order to unsubscribe, I had to log back in through the website portal (can't unsubscribe or view your account via the app). There was no clear way to unsubscribe, instead, I had to email customer service. Upon emailing customer service to cancel my subscription and request a refund, I received a quick response saying I had been unsubscribed. I followed up asking if my refund had been issues and Lumi's response was:

Regarding your refund request, I completely understand how you feel. However, our money-back policy has guidelines, which, unfortunately, don’t cover personal or financial reasons:

Personal reasons (you don’t like the product, it did not meet your expectations, etc.);

Financial reasons (you did not expect that you will be charged, that the trial will be converted into a subscription, that the subscription will automatically renew, or that the services are paid, etc).

I then read the details of the money-back guarantee, which were not provided in the initial purchasing of the product, and in order to request a refund, you have to have a reason that is not personal or financial and then contact Lumi with evidence and a reason for your cancellation which will be reviewed and approved by their team.

Absolute scam.

Ordered 10×11 shed took my money show it charity and never sends it contact them phone disconnected and email doesn't send.
