I seached for NYS healthcare open enrollment and this was the first link that popped up. I answered a few simple questions that seemed legitimate and are similar on the nyc government website. I was called seconds after submitting the online form and talked to a man named Alex who proceeded to tell me today was the last day for open enrolllment for getting health insurance for February. He told me the insurance would be a PPO, discussed copays and deductibles and told me that the doctors I named took this insurance. He took personal information like name, DOB, last four of social, phone number, email, and each member of my family's names and DOBs. He asked for my CC number and aid he would charge 1111.36 today and sent me a text message to check off boxes to then sign. During this time, it seemed too fishy and I got off the phone before I submitted anything.
