Type of a scam Online Purchase
I placed a layaway order January 17th with a downpayment of $25 and as their webpage informes, a representative would get in touch with to settle the payment plan. The product I ordered cost $59.99. Two days later and no call or email from a representative so I decided to call them. (In these two days of waiting, I only received a plain email stating my order number but no invoice or anything else that showed I placed an order). While calling them I was already on their webpage checking to see if I could see my order but there is no option for that. I noticed the sunglasses I ordered had a change in the price and was then $99.00! The woman I spoke to was unbelievably rude and she wanted to show that I was a liar and I had the price wrong from the very beginning and that my order costs $99.00 and not $59.00 as it was when I placed it. I told her to cancel it, I told her I never received an invoice and told her I wanted my downpayment back but refused to do so as that's their scamming policy right there. In the fine print for returns/refunds, it mentiones that all layaway orders are backordered and they charge the $25 as non refundable so that when people cancel their order, opticsfast have to keep the product in their inventory. The thing here is that of course people will cancel when an item you see costs more money than you agreed to pay when placing an order. They have thought this all well and I feel sorry for all of us who have lost dollars to these scambags. Btw, the woman I was taking to was answering all lines on the phone (service, orders, customer service). It's a one man show that replies in the most rudest way possible. I hope they get caught and rot in jail.
