Name change

Same situation same phone number but now under the name Future Research Inc. A 2-day priority mail envelope with instructions and an official looking check arrived to my house. They also reached to me via my school email so that’s concerning. Please watch out and stay safe, even if the check looks real.

Was initially contacted via email about a secret shopper offer and then received what looked like a real check for $2,450. Letter said to go buy gift cards and then email them, after exposing the pin codes, back to their company. If I did this I could keep $300 of the check.

#1 Employer of Mystery Shoppers

I randomly received a large envelope in the mail and upon opening, found a check for $2,950.00 with instructions to deposit the check into my active bank account, then purchase several gift cards; upon completion of this I was instructed to take pictures of the fronts and backs of the cards, including the numbers under the silver scratch-off panel, and text everything to the number I listed above. As I am not a damn [censored] I recognized it for the scam it is.

I received a text message from Optimum Consult Inc. Advising me that I could be a secret shopper for Krogers and that monies would be pepaid to me to conduct shopping. I was asked to provide some personal information via google forms, for which I did not submit. I'm am not researching the company which appears to be fake.

On 9/8/2021 I received a USPS Priority Mail 2-Day 12 1/2 x 9 1/2 envelope addressed to me.

The envelope contained an official looking citibank check in the amount of $1900.00 along with a pre-printed letter with Optimum Consult as a header + addressed to: "Attention: Dear Esteemed Secret Shopper". Contained in the enveloper were instructions to deposit the check, preferably within 24 hours after sending the following: I was to shop at a local retailer, they suggested, Walgreens, Bestbuy, CVS, Kroger, etc. + purchase 3 Apple Gift cards that were $500 each. Then send a picture + email of the back 'panel' of the cards, once the PIN codes were scratched off along with copies of the receipt. My commission would be $300 unless I did it within 24 hours which would land me $400.

I am including a copy of the letter.

I received a Linkedln message from a Janae Belote about an exclusive opportunity for a secret shopper. The link this person attached took you to a google doc - Optimum Consult Inc Survey Agent Job Offer. Unfortunately, I filled out my information, name, address, email, and current occupation. From there I received an email from [email protected] saying my application was approved and that I'd be receiving my job duty in the mail soon. That email is no longer working. A few weeks later I received a cashier's check of $1,900 - saying that I can keep $300 for my work and to buy e-Bay gift cards. The whole thing feels very suspicious.

Company name is Optimum Consult LLC. Employment for mystery shopping and survey. David Riser Ressearch Manager contact number 859-667-8810 or 323-315-0858... email contact [email protected].... I received a fake check with my name on it and a fake signature stamped. Fraud!!1

I signed for this too through an advertisement from my school. The person behind the text doesn't give a name, but it's the same 2nd phone number you have listed that I've been communicating with. I received the check and assignment through USPS yesterday, but I don't know if it's legit? I don't want my bank account to get hacked! Someone please reply if it is legit or not.
