Type of a scam Employment
I still went ahead with the interview which they had me downloaded LINE app and I coordinated the interview through there. ( Should have been red flag number 2) The "interview" was a timed typing test to different questions such as how do you handle working remotely. Some other questions were what bank did I use and what phone provider do I use (third red flag, legitimate employers do not ask this!)
I thought it was odd but I believed this company was based in France so I gave them a pass thinking it was just trying to figure out how to work with American workers. Once the interview was done I was told to expect an answer within two hours. I did and was given two legitimate-looking letters for confidential agreements for this company, where they even used the real Orega Biotech logos and address on the letters. I was told to sign the agreement and send it back by email. Once I did I immediately was told to reach out to Frank on Line app. He was stern and made me listen to this whole onboarding thing saying that the company was an EOE and all the regulations for that and that I would be trusted to get equipment for my home office. He listed all the equipment I needed, I researched each one and saw they were all legitimate items. And then he said the check would "then be mailed to my email address for me to deposit and use for the equipment." I asked for clarification and said that emailing checks are not legitimate checks. Suddenly all contact with Frank Huerta and the company stopped. If you took the time to read all this please be super cautious about anyone reaching out to you about a job opportunity. If it seems odd research all that you can. A legitimate business will be registered with the state. Also, any business that says they will pay you or reimburse you for equipment is lying.
