This guy was a fast talker. I tried to get the amount from him but he didn't know because the trucks had unknown amount of rock on them but he would go as far as he could. So nothing was written to start, I was to get a written statement at the end of the job when he knew the distance and amount of rock used. His starting quote was $18.00 a square yard. The first agreement was to lay down one hundred ft and I would see how it looks for $1,800 . That was the agreement, after thinking about it I decided not to risk my involvement. When I went to the end of our driveway some 1,000 ft away, he was already done with the first 100ft. I said not to do any more work. He changed his quot to $16.00sqyd and he would go farther than first discussed. Now we were talking about a completed job with the distance measured and defined. The new total price to complete was $11,000, but if I paid $10,000 cash I could save $1,000.00. The job ended and now they wanted the money, I paid and he wrote a receipt. Words were exchanged he said " I've never met people like you", " I never seen people like you", "you should be thanking me for more done on your road". My wife came out and took a picture of his vehicle so then he took a picture of our vehicle. He said you had better not post a negative review on social media or I will sue you. I said we could post what we want that is truthful. Now with the receipt , a company business card and brochure we had a name, address and OR#247438. We found the address does not belong to Oregon Road Builder its a UPS store. I am still looking at the OR# 247438 info.
So you may not do anything about this I would state that the experience ran from rude to threatening, no truthful contact information.
