Some guy name Matthew Curry called me saying he was going to go to my job or home... Supposedly it was from a debt collector. Wells Fargo had giving them my debt turns out wells Fargo doesn't send 3rd party agencies collections and the account number that Mr. Curry gave me wasn't even on file with Wells Fargo... Don't fall for scams

They called me saying I was being sued by Wells Fargo, I had the bank account back in 2007. They claimed I left the account negative $120 then was charge NSF for months & now the account was negative a total of $400 plus dollars. They said now that the collection agency had my file I was going to have to pay $1,000 plus dollars. They claimed they were going to serve me with court papers to my home & work. I asked them several times why wasn't I given any type of letters in the mail. They claim it isn't Wells Fargo's job to be looking for me. I told the agency I have always forwarded my address & they changed the subjected & asked for me to settle for the $400 and they would let me pay this in payments. They were asking for my debit or credit card & I told them I needed to call them back to figure out what dates I could afford the payments. I then logged on here (BBB) & saw someone else had reported the samething! Be careful!!

This company posed as a law firm supposedly representing Wachovia/Wells Fargo, stating that I was being sued for an account that was delinquent. But I don’t and never have had an account with that bank and when I called the bank they verified that I don’t have any accounts currently or previously. A rep from Wells Fargo also stated that many of their consumers and those that don’t have account with them, like myself, have been receiving a lot of calls like that and it’s fradualent. They company had my social security number, address, phone number, and date of birth.
