Scammer's email [email protected]
Total money lost $399.99
Type of a scam Tech Support
They had the elderly resident who answered the phone install a small program that allowed them to take over the computer.
The elderly person transferred money to them when asked to. They also gave out a lot of personal and banking information.
Later in that day and the next the elderly person spoke to techie relatives who removed the computer software giving the scammers control. Credit cards were notified and numbers were changed/reissued.
Then the next year, months later, OS ADVISOR LLC initiated a bank transfer of $399.99. This was not noticed until two months later.
When the bank was contacted, they issued a request to the receiving bank to give back the money. In response, their bank let the OS Advisors LLC know. Someone named Jace called the elderly person back, who did not remember him, and he convinced them to again put a small program on their computer "to keep it secure." The elderly person was in a hurry and left the house shortly after.
This time, Jace from OS Advisors sent an email from the elderly person's email account, which had been left logged in in a browser, to [email protected] saying that they were satisfied with their service and acknowledged the money transfer was legitimate. This bogus email had some typos and mistakes in word-choice, but even so, the bank refused to return the money and OS Advisors LLC was able to keep it.
WATCH OUT.
