Other - Falak Immigration Services Reports & Reviews (1)

• Sep 26, 2024

I came to Canada on July 31, 2023, on a visitor visa. I wanted to apply for asylum because my life is in danger in my home country. I was not aware of the process or the correct way to submit the application, so I searched for consultants on Google and found Falak Immigration Services for consultation. The main people there were Uzma Khan and her husband, Ilyas Khan. They behaved with me like family members. I was very afraid and extremely stressed because of my situation. They advised me to apply for asylum and introduced me to their friend, Syed Zamir Zaidi, an 81-year-old man. According to them, he helps people with refugee and asylum claims.

Syed Zamir Zaidi also acted like a family member. He introduced himself as a member of the Shia sect and said his company was called Lucky Immigration Services. He promised to help me with my case. He said he normally charges US $10,000 but would only charge me US $5,000, which was around CAD $6,800. He kept asking me to pay at least $2,000 to start the documentation, but I didn’t have that much money. I trusted him and, with all my savings, paid him CAD $1,500 the next day. He said he wouldn’t provide a receipt or write anything down because he was giving me a discount and would personally help me with the process. I paid him, and he began working on the forms and documents.

He asked for my passport and IC number, my family’s details, their passport and IC numbers, my address, my family’s location, their dates of birth, and my father’s death certificate. He also gave me some forms to fill out and return to him. After a week, he asked to meet me at the No Frills in Credit Valley Town Plaza to collect the file from me. He didn’t get out of his car, collected my file in a minute, and left quickly. He said it would take 20 days to complete my file and submit the case to immigration.

After 20 days, I called him for updates, but he kept making excuses—saying his computer wasn’t working, that he was sick and admitted to the hospital, had a fever, underwent eye surgery, and other reasons. He kept asking for more money to process the case, but I didn’t have the funds. He said there were many people ahead of me, and it would take time to submit my case. He was always “busy” with court hearings and meetings, and told me not to disturb him.

After 4 months, when I kept asking him, he claimed he had submitted my case but gave no proof or UCI number, saying he was waiting for immigration to respond. He continued giving me false hope and warned me not to tell anyone about him or my case, or else the government would reject it. He claimed only he could help because he had 40 years of experience in immigration consultation.

After 6 months, he said there was a mistake on my part for not signing one of the papers, which caused immigration to reject my case. He said he would reapply but asked for more money.

In the meantime, Uzma Khan and Ilyas Khan offered me a job taking care of an elderly couple at their home. They offered a salary of CAD $3,000 and asked me to stay there alone. It felt like a human trafficking trap, so I refused. When I asked for my CAD $1,500 back, Syed Zamir Zaidi said he had no money to return and refused to refund me. Uzma Khan and Ilyas Khan stopped responding to my calls and messages. They wasted my time and money. I had a terrible experience in Canada, and I now want to appeal this scam.

Thank you.
