In an effort to obtain a certified copy of my birth certificate I searched google for the AZ Bureau Of Vital Statistics. The Onlinevital US website came up and when I entered the site I assumed it was the legitimate government website. Only after "ordering" the birth certificate, and paying their $47. fee, did I realize there was something strange. I received and email from OVUS giving me instruction on who to obtain my birth certificate and it told me to be sure to pay the fees in order to obtain the birth certificate and also fill out all of the necessary paperwork. I thought that's what the $47. payment I made to them was going towards. And I assumed all of the information I gave to them was the official application process. Apparently not. Once I realized it was not the az.gov website I checked my bank account and the OVUS charge was coming from the country of SPAIN. The OVUS company is not even based in the US. Hours after completing my order with OVUS I started receiving scam robo calls telling me that my Social Security number has been compromised. I was getting a call every five minutes. I called my bank and cancelled my credit card and put an fraudulent charge inquiry into the payment I made to OVUS. I now plan to sign up for an identity protection program. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! Do not use this online service!
