Our church received a Summer Edition of Oxygen Magazine (addressed to No Saints Eprscopal; we are All Saints' Episcopal Church). Curious, but no problem. Then we started getting invoices. At first I thought maybe someone did this as a prank, but because it arrived in late October or early November, and is the early summer edition, that seems unlikely. Why would a company send a 5- 6-month-old magazine for a new subscription. We have subsequently gotten invoices saying we ordered it and need to pay. This appears to be a scam where the magazine sends out old issues and then invoices people, hoping they will pay.

As I said, even though I initially thought it possible that someone subscribed in our name as a prank, because the magazine is so old, and because they keep invoicing us, apparently in the hope that we will feel guilty or obliged and send them money, it appears to be a marketing scheme fraudulently claiming that we ordered a magazine.
